Yves Saint-Laurent Spring/Summer 2009 High Top Sneakers

Kanye West x Louis Vuitton "Boat Shoes"
With the release of the Kanye West For Louis Vuitton footweaar collection coming closer we can give you a look today at the boat sneakers. Coming with a similar base silhouette as the Don sneaker out of the collection, the main difference is on the front, where the sneaker has a clear boat shoe silhouette and tassles. The sneaker seems to be coming in all white and in grey/pink, the same colorway that we have already seen on a high top sneaker out of the collection.

This devastating disease has created over 13 million orphans in Africa alone. This has become a race against time, not just for Africa but for the entire human race... Keep a Child Alive is dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to children and their families with HIV/AIDS in Africa and the developing world by directly engaging the global public in the fight against AIDS. Anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment has transformed the lives of people with AIDS in the West, returning them from sickness to health. But less than 5% of children with AIDS have access to these life-saving drugs. When the children are infected, 50% die before the age of 2 and 80% die before the age of 5. Keep A Child Alive provides the medical services needed to make treatment possible. Doctors, nutrition, testing, transportation, and treatment for opportunistic infections are all necessary for anti-retroviral treatment to be successful. Currently 15.2 millions children worldwide have lost one or both parents to AIDS, and by 2010 the number is expected to reach 25 millions. 13 million of these children are in Sub-Saharan Africa. Keep A Child Alive supports the children's extended family caregivers, and builds and sustains orphanages to keep the most vulnerable children out of harm's way.
There is an emergency in Africa. The African Holocaust has already claimed the lives of 25 million people, infected another 40 million, and left 13 million orphaned African children in its wake. If 6500 deaths per day is not an emergency, it's hard to imagine what is. Yet aside from rare exceptions, actions on an emergency scale continually fails to materialize. The next 40 million infected people are beginning to sicken and die, because the chance of receiving ARV treatment, the only medicine that can keep people alive, remains as remote as a dream for the vast majority of people with AIDS. It's time to help stop the dying. Our first task is now to keep people alive, before it's too late.

Panasonic to ship Z1 plasma, world’s most advanced HDTV
Who says plasma screens are dead? While Pioneer and Vizio are abandoning the format, Panasonic plans to offer this TC-P54Z1 plasma in June. With its wireless HDMI in 1080p, 1-inch thickness, THX certification, Internet connectivity, and 24Hz cinematic playback, it’s undoubtedly the world’s most advanced HDTV.
Our only nitpick: It’ll only be available in a 54-inch screen size. We want a 72-incher! That said, it sure looks like a lot of TV for $6000, and if that’s going to break the bank, at least this set has some power-saving “Neo PDP” tech on board.

Kanye West x Louis Vuitton
Besides the collaboration that Kanye West has with Nike on the Air Yeezy, the producer/rapper will also be collaborating with French fashion house, Louis Vuitton, on a larger collection of high fashion sneakers. The collection will include a High Top sneaker as well as a Low Top sneaker that some of you may have already seen. Here we have a closer look at some of the colorways of both the High Top and Low Top sneakers. The collection is scheduled for a June release date at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.
